Based on the official CBSE notice for the September 2026 (22nd edition) cycle (source). Last checked 19 Oct 2026. From the CTET September 2026 information bulletin. That edition is held on 12 and 13 December 2026. CTET runs twice a year, and a new bulletin can change these limits. Rules can change between cycles, so match these against the notification for your exam before you submit.
How to resize for CTET
- Take a clear, recent photo against a plain light background. A phone camera in daylight is fine.
- Sign on plain white paper with the pen colour your notification asks for (usually black). Photograph it from directly above in good light.
- Choose each image above. Drag and zoom so it fills the frame.
- Check the size shown under the preview, then tap Download JPG and upload that file on the CBSE portal.
What to know before you apply for CTET
CTET is run by CBSE for people who want to teach Classes 1 to 8. Paper I is for Classes 1 to 5 and Paper II for Classes 6 to 8. It applies to central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas, and other schools may accept it too.
The CTET limits are wide: 10 to 100 KB for the photo and 3 to 30 KB for the signature. The tool makes both at the shapes the bulletin gives, 3.5 × 4.5 cm for the photo and 3.5 × 1.5 cm for the signature.
The bulletin says your uploaded photo is matched with you at the exam centre, so use a recent photo that looks like you on the day.
Questions people ask
What photo size does CTET accept?
10 to 100 KB, 3.5 × 4.5 cm, as a JPG, based on the September 2026 (22nd edition) notification.
What signature size does CTET accept?
3 to 30 KB, 3.5 × 1.5 cm. Sign on plain white paper in the ink colour the notification asks for (usually black), then photograph or scan it.
Why was my upload rejected even though the size was right?
Portals also check things a resizer can’t fix: a blurred or old photo, a face that is too small, caps or dark glasses, a coloured background, or a signature in capital letters. Retake the image if any of these apply.
Is it safe to use this tool?
Yes. Your image is processed inside your browser and is never sent to any server. You can even switch off mobile data after the page loads and it still works.
