Based on TNPSC's official Instructions to Applicants (2025) (source). Last checked 19 Oct 2026. From TNPSC's Instructions to Applicants (2025). The same photo and signature rules apply to One Time Registration (OTR) and to every application. Name the files Photograph.jpg and Signature.jpg before you upload. Rules can change between cycles, so match these against the notification for your exam before you submit.
How to resize for TNPSC
- Take a clear, recent photo against a plain light background. A phone camera in daylight is fine.
- Sign on plain white paper with the pen colour your notification asks for (usually black). Photograph it from directly above in good light.
- Choose each image above. Drag and zoom so it fills the frame.
- Check the size shown under the preview, then tap Download JPG and upload that file on the TNPSC portal.
What to know before you apply for TNPSC
TNPSC asks for something most exams don't: your name and the date the photo was taken printed along the bottom of the photo. Type them into the boxes under the photo tool and it adds the strip at the 1.5 cm height TNPSC describes. Keep your face in the upper part of the frame so the strip doesn't cover your chin.
The photo must also be taken on or after the date of the notification, so a photo from an earlier application won't do. It's uploaded again with every application, not only at One Time Registration.
The signature box is 6 × 2 cm, wider than the 3.5 × 1.5 cm many other exams use. The tool makes it the 230 × 75 px TNPSC gives.
Questions people ask
What photo size does TNPSC accept?
20 to 50 KB, 130 × 170 px (3.5 × 4.5 cm), as a JPG, based on the 2025 notification.
What signature size does TNPSC accept?
10 to 20 KB, 230 × 75 px (6 × 2 cm). Sign on plain white paper in the ink colour the notification asks for (usually black), then photograph or scan it.
Why was my upload rejected even though the size was right?
Portals also check things a resizer can’t fix: a blurred or old photo, a face that is too small, caps or dark glasses, a coloured background, or a signature in capital letters. Retake the image if any of these apply.
Is it safe to use this tool?
Yes. Your image is processed inside your browser and is never sent to any server. You can even switch off mobile data after the page loads and it still works.
